... and in other news.
Ill Bill has finally confirmed a September release date for his upcoming album The Hour of Reprisal. For those of you who didn't already know, Soulfly's Max Cavalera was invited to perform on this album on a track that Ill Bill created with the infamous Immortal Technique and Max. This will be underground hip-hop prodigy Ill Bill's second studio release, and it will feature guest spots from B-Real of Cypress Hill, Darryl Jenifer and H.R. of Bad Brains, Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage, Jedi Mind Tricks, Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan, Tech N9ne in addition to Max and IT. You can hear Max make his debut on a hip-hop album on the track "War Is My Destiny". Pick up the album when it drops and go to myspace.com/illbill to stream "War Is My Destiny" featuring Ill Bill, Immortal Technique, and Soulfly's own Max Cavalera.
And also, former Soulfly guitarist and good friend to the tribe Mikey Doling has just reunited with his brothers and reactivated their band Snot! Snot were amazing friends with Soulfly during their time together, and only got the chance to release a single studio album before the tragic death of their lead singer Lynn Strait. After 10 years, Snot finally decided the time was right to play together again so they reunited the band with longtime friend former Divine Heresy vocalist Tommy Vext taking over lead vocals. It's time to celebrate for Lynn and Snot; visit them at their myspace and to say hello and listen to their new song "The Band Plays On". In honor of the occasion, here's Snot's performance of the aptly titled Beastie Boys' classic "Time For Livin'" with Max Cavalera during Soulfly 1998 U.S. tour! ..there's also footage from Snot's first show in 10 years (which took place last night) available here.
